Italian Style Seasoned Slices Cooked Beef
“Made The Old Fashioned Way”
The classic Italian Beef Sandwich is truly unique to the city of Chicago. During the Great Depression, the Italian immigrant families required a simple, yet filling meal for their celebrations. The roasted, seasoned beef was sliced thin and rich gravy was ladled on top of the bread so there would be enough to go around.
Today you can share the tradition and flavor of days gone by, right in your own home or restaurant. Taylor Street Beef is made the old fashioned way…slow oven roasted just like you would find in Chicago’s famous beef stands.
Serve it on French bread or hoagie-style sub rolls along with cooked green peppers and hot or mild giardiniera peppers… the taste is truly sensational.
When it comes to flavor,
Taylor Street Beef is the best!
For best results, thaw beef and gravy in refrigerator overnight or until thawed.
Heat entire contents of gravy to 165F (do not boil). Place beef in gravy, stir until warm then remove beef and place on bread, then ladle spices from top of gravy onto the sandwich along with additional gravy.
