ABOUT JOB OPENINGS
SQF Practitioner is responsible for ensuring documents are properly recorded and stored, delegating tasks, and reviewing the production schedule. Identifying and resolving quality issues alone with the QA Operations Manager and working with Management. Need to be familiar with SQF, HACCP, GMPs and internal procedures of the area. Is responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Quality Assurance Management Systems to support manufacturing of wholesome and quality food. SQF Practitioner helps develops, maintain, and oversee implementation of Policies and Procedures in accordance with SQF code.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures compliance with all quality programs, including GMP, SQF.
Develops and maintains Policies and Procedures and monitoring forms in accordance with SQF System.
Evaluates and assists in developing processes, specifications, and critical control points in manufacturing, for ongoing quality assurance of all finished goods.
Directly manages Plant Sanitation and associated programs.
Ensures manufacturing specifications, standards, protocols and procedures for quality control and new product development are followed.
Ensures incoming materials meet safety and quality standards through inspection, vendor visits and certification programs.
Directly handles consumer complaints and provide reports/trends based on accumulated data; initiate action plans to address repeat concerns.
Executes employee training programs that support the Company’s objectives about quality and food safety.
Applies administrative and record-keeping processes to support the programs listed above.
Maintains current libraries for all GMPs, SOPs, SQF.
Manages budget and cost controls considering existing new product pipeline and customer requests.
· Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF System.
· Oversees chemical usage. Assures that chemicals are stored properly and secure and that all SDS are available.
Adhere to all regulatory rules and regulations, ensuring that Food Safety and product performance standards are met.
Monitor all quality-related procedures and create or update procedures, as necessary.
Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and advances in the state of the industry.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Develop direct reports for positions of increased responsibility Daily: Give daily feedback to the leadership team concerning projects.
Conduct food safety meetings and provide input during USDA meetings.
Serve as lead contact for Audits, SQF, CN, Customer, USDA, FDA
Creates and maintains SQF Quality Plan

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with plant leadership, employees, suppliers, customers, and the USDA.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Detailed knowledge and track record of successful implementation of food manufacturing policies and procedures (GMP)
Preferably have at least 3 years of quality experience in a fresh food manufacturing environment
· Preferably have knowledge of FDA, USDA and implementing Food Safety Systems.
· Preferably have experience with 3rd party food safety audits.
· Food Safety Skills: GFSI, SQF, GMP’s, HACCP, CCP
· Self-starter who is results-oriented, resourceful, and takes initiative.
· Be a team player maintaining a positive and respectful work environment.
· Ability to work in cold environment.
Education / Experience
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Food Science, Microbiology, food technology
In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a combination of education and experience may be considered, provided the candidate has demonstrated technical proficiency in the areas of food safety, food microbiology, food defense, and food policy.
Certified SQF Practitioner or equivalent
3-5 years of Food QA management experience desired
USDA experience desired

Pay: $65,500.00 - $80,000.00 per year
